I work closely with parents to understand their unique needs and concerns, providing education, emotional support, and physical comfort measures to help ensure a positive birth experience and smooth transition into parenthood. Meet the doula

Hi there, My name is Mariah (she/her/hers) and I am the solo doula at MARIAH BIRTHING DOULA. I am a DONA trained birthing doula by Robin Elise Weiss and have VBAC certification. I am a mother to a bold and beautiful three year and a half year old who was born during a pandemic. I have been a registered nurse since 2017 with most of my background in critical care. My passion is being a doula. Support during this phase of life is essential. I am an all-inclusive doula and ally, here to serve every family that wants a doula. I see clients as individuals and edit my services to be personalized to you and your families’ needs.

My philosophy on birth is rooted in the belief that every family deserves personalized support throughout the journey of pregnancy to parenthood especially during labor. I believe in empowering parents to make informed decisions about their pregnancy and birth through education. I am not here to make decisions for you but instead provide you a strong enough foundation to make choices that are the best choice for you and your family. Education is power that no one can take away from you. I strive to create a calm, nurturing environment where parents are safe, seen, and soothed.

As a doula, I offer a range of services to support expectant parents, including prenatal education, labor support, postpartum care, birth photography, VBAC advocacy and breastfeeding support. I have yet attend a birth but I am striving to be the best doula i can be through continual education and keeping up to date with evidence based practices.

My first client is due in April and planning for a natural birth. She is my baby sister and one of main reasons I decided to become a doula. I labored without a doula and received no support from my spouse and medical providers. A well prepared for natural birth quickly turned into an epidural after I was labeled as a difficult patient. during my own birth which led to birth trauma, postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. I am here to support you in your desired birth.

My approach to working with clients is one of compassion, openness, and collaboration. I prioritize effective communication and am committed to being available to answer any questions or concerns that may arise. I also believe in working closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure that my clients receive the best possible care.
